Columbia Girls Lacrosse

Our Story

Continued Expansion of our Team:

The club desires to create as many opportunities for girls to gain knowledge of lacrosse as it promotes youth development.  Many studies have shown that sports participation can lead to improved academic achievement, fewer behavioral problems, better psycho-social health, and more.   These benefits can also be seen in character, confidence, and other critical components of positive development.  Early exposure to the sport increases the opportunities and confidence of players as they enter high school to continue the sport.  Therefore, we strive to begin developing the youth sport in the Columbia area in addition to the High School team.

Extraordinary Experiences

The club will work to provide year-round activities supporting continued athlete development in Lacrosse and conditioning. In addition to the traditional spring season the club looks to sponsor summer and fall (even potentially winter) opportunities.  Participation in off-season activities is voluntary and available, as long as they maintain their US Lacrosse membership.

Our Core Values / PURPOSE STATEMENT

In accordance with and subject to the bylaws, the specific
purposes for which this corporation is organized are to educate
Columbia Missouri area girls (youth up to 12th Grade) on the fundamentals
of girls lacrosse while educating and promoting character building
skills and teamwork. The means of providing such education
includes, but is not limited to, providing supervised practice and game opportunities. We strive to create opportunities for these girls to learn, grow and achieve in the sport of lacrosse.

About US

Build Lacrosse, Develop Players, Achieve as a Team

Columbia Missouri Area Girls Lacrosse is a club team and is currently not affiliated with any school.   We are a 501(c)3 Missouri Non-Profit organization educating girls in the sport of lacrosse.  We are operated by supportive community leaders, parents, and students.

We can have players from any school in our area participate in our club.  In recent years Girls lacrosse has been approved by MSHSAA to be a school sanctioned sport.

Our goal is to continue to develop our sport to recommend Columbia Public Schools to add it as a school sanctioned sport.
